Casper, Wyoming Pagan Community Stands Against Misrepresentation at Crimson Dawn Midsummer's Eve Celebration
The Pagan community of Casper, Wyoming, voices strong opposition to the presence of the show "Ghost Adventures" at the 95th Annual Crimson Dawn Midsummer's Eve Celebration. The show is widely criticized for manipulating the spiritual world, degrading spiritual beliefs, fabricating evidence, and exploiting other people's stories for fame and fortune without proper acknowledgment.
The local pagan community and participants of the Crimson Dawn Midsummer's Eve Celebration express their discontent with how "Ghost Adventures" misrepresents witchcraft and the spiritual craft. Their actions have included blaming a "coven of witches" for hauntings and paranormal activities, which misrepresents the craft, ceremonies, and ideals for profit. Such portrayals give a false impression of witchcraft and may reinforce negative stereotypes, inciting fear and misunderstanding.

"This event is a sacred celebration for those who worship the gods of old, honor the land we live on, and follow the sacred Wheel of the Year. It is a time of joy and reverence, not an opportunity to be turned into sensationalist B-roll," stated a community representative.
The Solstice, often referred to as Midsummer or Litha, is a significant celebration for pagans, marking the longest day and the shortest night of the year. It usually occurs around June 21st in the Northern Hemisphere. This festival celebrates the height of summer and the power of the sun. Pagans honor the sun’s life-giving energy, abundance, and the fullness of life.
Litha is a time of joy, gratitude, and connection with nature. Many pagans gather to perform rituals, which may include lighting bonfires, dancing, feasting, and making offerings to deities associated with the sun and fertility. It is a time to celebrate growth, both in nature and within oneself, and to reflect on the balance between light and dark as the days begin to shorten again after the solstice.
The community urges all supporters to share this message widely and stand against the misrepresentation of their sacred beliefs and practices. The 95th Annual Midsummer's Eve Celebration is intended to be a time of unity and respect for spiritual traditions, not an occasion for exploitation and mischaracterization.
